    I Propose Daylight Savings Hours

Since the date for daylight savings time has changed, Sugarbush should really push back the operating hours so the mountain is open until 5:00. This time of year with daylight savings time the snow typically doesn't soften until around noon which only leaves 4 hours of prime skiing. Plus the best skiing of the day ends up being around 4:00 and it is ridiculous for the mountain to close when the conditions are at their best. The opening could be pushed back in the morning so the total hours open remains the same but this would make much better use of the sunlight.

Someone needs to get that dude up to speed on this. Pretty good weekend all around. Outdoor patio finally had a beer stand, but only one brand. Better than nothing. North was cool and windy Saturday afternoon, took a big fall on Elbow, the first in many years; didn't see the ice under the 1/2" of pulverized powder.

Sunday was real spring skiing unless you ventured into the woods trails that didn't see any sun.

When the temperature is really warm this makes sense but ironically this weekend by 4 (and I skied the 4:00 chair) it was already cooling down and crisping up. An extra hour probably would not make a lot of difference. In April it may. Mad River has gone to 9:30 - 4:30 but I also want to point out that March is our snowiest month and we still have not had our good dumps. When we do we will want an early opening time so we get to enjoy the cold morning snow before it starts to warm as the day goes on. Food for thought.

Last weekend of March last year!

Can't say. I like the later beginning, but I was coming out that late, anyway. On the late closing of Bravo, I can't say as I've had something else to do each afternoon, this week. But the snow off Bravo was quite good when I left, so I expect some nice runs, if I ever do stay later.

Two roads diverged in a wood,

and I- I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.
