I don't post much on this board, but I love Sugarbush, and I worked for Merrill Lynch when I was a lot younger, from 1994 - 1998. It was a great company, with people who really cared about each other, and about their customers and clients. It's a very proud entry on my resume.

I moved on, not because of MER, but because I received a graduate degree at night, and took a new position in a somewhat different discipline. But my supervisors were people who had my back, gave me a lot of encouragement with my studies, and always made time for my questions. People at the Firm used to say, and not jokingly, but wistfully, that the culture of the firm was what "Mother Merrill" was about. It was a meritocracy, but we were kind to each other, and integrity was of paramount importance.

I want to bring to the board's attention Win's remarks made regarding the sale of MER to Bank of America. He is 100% right about everything he put into his speech, and he exemplifies the spirit of what made that Firm great.

Win has done a lot of good things for SB (remember when he gave people lift tix who got nailed by a blackout that was not his fault at all?), and I think it's because he was raised to treat his clients at SB in the Mother Merrill style. Bravo Win, your speech gave me a lump in my throat.
