    Big weekend in the valley!

    Big weekend in the valley!

The Green Mountain Stage Race (bicycle) is in the area starting tomorrow.

    Saturday is the farmers' market.

The weekend has the craft fair at Kenyons. Big event, with lots of things to see and buy.

Last weekend of the Festival of The Arts.

All the stuff going on at Sugarbush.

    And...

It is supposed to be a great weekend, weather-wise.

Hope everyone gets out to enjoy most, if not all of it!

Well, got to see part of the stage race, yesterday. (Was going to see the whole thing, but my helicopter is still in the shop. )

Went up to the upper lot at Mad River. Small group of spectators there, but very enthusiastic and encouraging. Saw a couple people ask who another was cheering for, and when she came by, there were ten people cheering for her by name.

Got around 330 pix. I've already sorted them and have selected 50 to post. Likely in the next few days.

Last year's shots were from the end of German Flats Rd. This year, they were well onto the hill. These people were working! Props to them.

Today, I'm getting ready to head to the farmers' market. (Last day to buy your duck race ticket!) Then to the craft fair at Kenyons. I might check out an open studio or possibly the Red Barn show?
Last weekend of the Festival of The Arts.

Then I'll probably head up to Sugarbush, for the afternoon. Maybe disc golf? Maybe hike to the top? I'll be greeting people there, tomorrow. Stop by and say hi.

Great weather! Time to stop typing and get out!

I drove support for the race this afternoon. Very smooth. It was nice this year to see how much more media coverage there was...although the Free Press had a big write up on the race and neglected to say where it was on any given day!!!

    Great that it went smooth!

I was talking with one of the racers, this morning. I was telling him of the crew that was around me, on 17. When I was telling him about our cheering them on, he told me that, at that time, they didn't want to hear or see us.

His phrase was "We don't want to hear them or see them. We hate everyone and the ride." He was smiling when he said it, and I laughed, but understood what he was saying. I've done endurance racing, and remember that feeling. "You think it's so great? You get out here!" That is a tough ride!

Great day to be outside, tho, huh? And another, tomorrow!

Finally got some of the pix up from the 1st stage of the GMSR. I posted around 50 of the 330 pix I took.

I put them in my Flickr album.

They'll probably be there for a couple weeks.
