    Bike race, this weekend...

Anyone planning on viewing / participating?

Last year I got out and took a bunch of pix. Weather permitting, I might do the same, this year.

I'm air dryable, but my camera... not so much.

ya'll are welcome to come by the Chamber and sit on the porch and watch, except you will be facing the wrong way. In speaking with the organizer, this might be the biggest field yet, and if it weren't for their pushing the State Transportation to be done paving by noon Friday, we could have been languishing in that ripped up section of road for weeks! AOT also have filled potholes and crevices in pavement south of Waitsfield and on Rt 17 in anticipation of the cyclists and their safety.

Well, I didn't get much in the way of actual race pix.

I did get out on Friday, but I was way too near the start, so my actual race pix were of the entire packs. And even with them, I had camera problems, cockpit problems, or an assortment of both.

I did get a bunch of pix of many the racers as they made their way back down the hill. I'll be posting some of them in the near future, with a link from this thread.

    Pix are up!

Well, I got 67 pix up.

I took many more, but there is only so long I'm going to spend uploading them. When I'm shooting, I just keep shooting.

You can check out what I posted, here.

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who participated, what you thought of the race and the whole event weekend.

thanks for the pics....being a valley hermit I did not venture out except to check out the craft fair. Ran into some old friends from other festivals there selling incredible fudge and the roads were not busy as I think the racers were miles away, perfect timing. The craft fair, tho small in size, had some wonderful artists showing some really exceptional items.

I got up to the craft fair too, after my mandatory stop at the farmers' market.

I thought it was pretty good.

I liked the signs they had on the stand for the fudge.

There was one that said something about broken pieces of fudge do not add calories as the breaks lead to calorie leakage.

    Some people will try anything!

And as for being a hermit, when I was first moving up, friends in Mass asked me what I was going to do up here. I told them I was going to be a hermit and live in a small cave on the side of a mountain... with cable.

Now things have changed, an I refer to myself as a hermit and live in a small cave on the side of a mountain... with cable and DSL.

    what happened on Saturday?

Anyone know what happened in the circuit race on Saturday? I overheard people saying there was some kind of incident. No Pro Mens points were awarded for the race: http://www.gmsr.info/communiques/9-2...rcuit_Race.pdf

Heard there was a huge pile-up in Moretown, most of the racers went down.
