Mac's is GONE??? but almost back. :-)

They were pulling out the gas pumps when I went by the other day.

Today, There was a giant shovel eating up the building!

Are they going to rebuild, or is it just gone?

    Any info?

    HOT news!

Mac's is gone....AGAIN!!! It burned down AGAIN last night (May 4). The shell, roof and floor were done, now it is back in a pile of rubble. If that isn't a little odd....???

I would hope it was April fools....

....but it doesn't sound like it is. Wow !

And, yes, woah....on the suspicion thing. Arsonists in the valley ?

Wow! Just got an email saying the same thing!

Amazing! I was wondering when it was going to open. After a long time, they had really started going on it.

I'd asked the other person if it had to do with something during construction, but if it went overnight, that doesn't seem likely.

Be interesting to hear what they say.

    Thanx for the info.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

They were often the cheapest place for gas, and I'd hate to see the area lose the competition.

Do you remember the cause for the last fire, there?

Back then it was attributed to an electrical issue in the back of the store. I wonder if they will revisit that....?

I've been coming up to the MRV since 1990 and have seen about half a dozen reincarnations of Mac's in that time. When I moved up here last fall, I temporarily stayed on the mtn at Sugarbush for about a month. I got up here in mid September and it was October when it burned down. Now it burned down again? Is that place cursed?

Mac's had quite the distinction of being the "Last Gas for 20 (or 30) Miles". It was even advertised on the sign heading south on 100. Now that honor goes to Valero. Obviously there's money to be had at this location and that's why they've rebuilt so many times. But it really does seem like its cursed. Or just one really strange coincidence after another.... is it built on an old burial ground perhaps??

Maybe it has something to with the big boulder one brother burried years ago. The boulder that brought out some brotherly love. I wonder if the "Dirt Doctor" has a puter?

I hope Mac's plans to rebuild again. It is a much needed asset to the Valley.

    Mac's to Rebuild!

Per the co-owner of Mac's store chain, they fully intend to rebuild in Warren immediately, with opening in July as originally planned. Cause of the fire is not yet determined, but arson does not seem to be the cause. A final determination will be forthcoming very shortly. That is GOOD NEWS!

    Wow!
