    Re: 2/18-2/25

I was a little (OK alot) worried about conditions after the NCP/freeze on 2/17. Fortunately, they did a great job making the mountain skiable on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday got even better. Got some snow tuesday night, making wednsday and Thursday good. But little did we know what was in store for us on Friday. All forecasts called for 3-5" but there was at least that when we took our first run down Stein's at 8:30...and then it really started snowing. Each time we rode up Heavens Gate it was snowing harder. We had at least a foot of fresh powder in the Paradise woods. It was beautiful. At 11 I took a spill going from the woods to the runout and lost one ski. After looking and digging for 20 minutes, I gave up, went down on one ski and rented a pair of demos. Got right back ob the lift and back to Paradise. Also did the woods off Domino, Upper Jester and Organgrinder. They were all very nice. Saturday was great too.

So you never found your ski?

That sucks - what kind were they?

He'll be reunited with his wandering ski soon enough!

They were a pair of Rosis that I never really liked and had been beating up in the trees the past 4 years.

Sounds like a good excuse for new skis to me.
