Looks great, noski. The only oversight was that it failed to mention the world famous Vermont Fruitcake Appreciation Society. Also, what the heck is that guy saying at the end when he's calling his...
I appreciate Sugarbush and their heroic efforts at times like these. The only thing that keeps my hope up is their willingness to go for broke as soon as the weather turns cold. There have been...
I think it's safer, but I do wish they'd catch those bastards who keep breaking into local homes, cars, and businesses.
A little late to chime in here, but I thought it looked great. Kudos to all involved.
This is very true. While most of our guests are coming to ski Sugarbush, I'd say 1/4 of them choose the MRV as their base because they can also take a day off to ski Mad River. The two resorts are...
How about a thread where we list your favorite small pleasures of living in this part of Vermont. Here's one of mine: good bread.
La Panciata delivers our sliced loaves that we serve for breakfast...
Thanks for the news, Win. Very happy to have Mexican back in the valley. Now, if we could just get some Thai and/or Indian, I'd be very happy.
It was great to see the Farmer's Market open and thriving again last Saturday. It helped that the weather was wonderful, but even so, with no tourists to speak of half the valley must have been there.
It was nice to see the site cleaned up this last week. Does anyone know what the owners plan to do? It's such a great site in the village and I hope that they rebuild in some way.
Great pictures. Scenes like that make me glad to live in the MRV.
I can vouch for that. MRG was good yesterday and better than good this afternoon after a few hours of snow. Still not the epic conditions of a week ago, but improving with every run. It's still...
I miss the Den for an inexpensive burger and the great sweet potato fries.
My favorite places are The Common Man, Sweetwood Grill & Bar, and Chez Henri. I've also eaten at Timbers with good...
I'm a skier and think MRG has the right to make whatever policy they want. If they wanted to say that one-legged skiers born in the MRV have the right to ski, I may not think it was a wise decision,...
Sounds great. I bought our passes and am planning to bring the inlaws up on Saturday. I'm hoping we have a favorable 36 hours of weather and I'm sure the man made stuff will be as good as it always...
I think the project is coming along nicely and I like the plans going forward. I'm just a little confused as to what is in the "definite" category, what is in the, "we're serious but aren't ready to...
I haven't done it myself, but we have a lot of people stay at the Golden Lion every year for the Century Ride and they always have a great time. The weather is usually beautiful that time of the year...
I like the look of the Claybrook Lodge. It's got a nice Vermont flavor to it.
I think it's an attractive house for Arizona or Southern California. I don't understand why someone would build in that style in the mountains of Vermont, though.
Personally, I was just asking for clarification, not being critical of SB. Actually, the explanation of discount tickets being then sold at a markup makes sense to me. I was thinking only in terms of...
Just a clarification...it's not the reuse of the tickets that's the problem, but the resale. Is that right?
Also, I'm not sure why this would be against the law. I can see for a sporting event,...
Are you expecting the New York Times? It's a small community and the writers for the paper are paid next to nothing.
I remember being in Conway, Wales several years ago, sitting in an absolutely gorgeous medieval walled city with a fabulous castle looming overhead. I was eating my fish and chips and listening to a...
Great news! That means to meet our annual average of 250" we can look forward to 129 inches of snow in the next six weeks. A lot of power days await! :P
I don't really like the new location. It's too dark and it's a view of things that don't move (apart from a few clouds). I think a web cam should show a scene that is changing more or less...
I've never stayed there, per se, but we are friends with owners Bob and Susan. They are nice people and it's a nice place with a good location.
Have fun.
