I'm going down to K-Mart tomorrow night to see Jorma Kaukonen of Hot Tuna fame or HFT. Thinking about staying overnight. Anyone have any recomondations for a cheap place to stay near the Pickle Barrel?

Thanks,

Plowboy

Jorma rocks....one of the all time "guitarist's guitarist". Enjoy.

Just listened to Quay about a month ago....like 4 times in a row. Just classic.

No info on cheap digs....sorry.

No digs, but thanks for the heads up on the show! Last saw him in 1981!

Is that why nobody knows he was also one of the starters of the Jefferson Airplane? Crying or Very sad

Don't worry. I graduated before 1981 AND I knew he was with Jefferson Airplane.

....that's quite a throwdown for Smoothie.....who, I can assure you was quite well aware of the JA work of Mr. K.

I don't even need to put "Volunteers" in my CD player in order to listen to it, as it is absolutely BURNED, note by note, into my gray matter. I just press the "play" button on my temple.

Laughing

P.S. Perhaps we need a Musicology 101 thread here in the misc. section. Open discussions of everything except the 9 months I played French Horn in 5th grade.....

The wife and I stay at the Happy Bear motel on the access Rd. Nice people, clean and should be one of the cheaper places to stay at Kmart. It's almost stumbling distance from the PB. Another decent cheap motel option is one in Rutland, the Friendship Inn. Not on the access rd but a 15 min drive. My wife is a Rut-Vegas native.
