that shot of mt ellen is gorgeous. may i suggest moving the chamber of commerce camera to that location, pronto? its seems neutral enough to me since most of the chamber member's are located somewhere, just out of view of the shot. thats more than what you can say about the current location.

if my whining does work, i'll be forced to sponsor a cam from lostone's house. Rolling Eyes

WHOA!

I thought I saw some white up on Camel's Hump on the way to school tomorrow but wrote it off just to be some strangely-whitish frost...

WOO!!!!

WE'RE ALMOST THERE FOLKS! 35 DAYS TILL NORTH IS OPEN!

EDIT: SRO, do you have that pic in full-res? Definitely want it as the wallpaper but it gets stretched at that resolution on my widescreen laptop...

But... I live in a condo, and they won't let me put up a camera. Crying or Very sad

It would be ok, if they did, tho. This shot is off my deck:

Now... if we could only move that building... Confused Wink

Find me power and high speed dsl, and presto! I might get that view every day to and from work, but it sure is not from my living room!

there it is, the challenge is on. all susan needs is a view, power and a dsl connection to move that chamber web cam. so who can step up to the plate? Very Happy

lostone, that view from your deck is pretty darn good. i think you need to talk to your condo board. perhaps this camera of susan's is small. perhaps we could hide that camera in a hollowed out pumpkin. Laughing

Just to clarify- the cam is not a fancy one. The shot you saw last year of Lincoln Peak was from a private property on the Access Rd- and the mtn looked quite far away- better shot of moving clouds than anything. The Mt Ellen shot is westerly, meaning that as the afternoon wears on, the sun is apt to make a bright white line across the screen as we stare into the setting sun's rays. I don't think the cam would do the view justice. Maybe we should let s_r_o and lostone feed us with nice pics and you use the cam to look at road conditions and snowbank height, and live falling snow.... and what color shoes I am wearing to work.

But I am game to entertain other options. I just have to work with Vickeryhill.com, the cam owner.

New snow on the hill from last night, it might be still snowing. I am heading out the door to cruise to NH so I am depending on Lostone to post some pics! Very Happy

Well... there might be a little new snow, (I actually saw some coming down, just before dark.) but there is less than the other day, as we lost a little, yesterday.

Still, if there is anything worthwhile, when I get out, you know I'll snap it. Rolling Eyes Wink

And as for noski's post... maybe if we turn the mountain around to the northeast...? Confused Wink

As did I, but I'd still like the full-res version...

The black background does look nice, it's true, but full-screen would be even nicer Cool

Here is a larger version of the Mt Ellen/Bragg Hill barn shot. It very compressed so I hope it looks OK. I tried uploading a Tiff and a Gif version, not so compressed better quality but I guess the file was too big to work. I can always email you a uncompressed higher quality version.
