Coming up tomorrow afternoon and was thinking of taking the gap. Anybody been on it lately?

We have done that route every week. If you have 4 wheel drive and don't mind your truck/car to have a brown appearance when your through it's do-able. It has typical spring conditions right now. Good Luck......

We debated going around this morning - but took the more adventurous path vs. the longer, safer one...
As it turned out, there was firm footing the whole way over Roxbury. Granted, some of that was on the opposite side of the road - no problem, no opposing traffic.

Many spots have that tell-tale cracking on the surface - a churning heavy vehicle would break it up into quadmire. And some spots have big solid heaves - not great for low clearances. But, no hub-cap deep unavoidable mud yet.

Both Warren and Roxbury have been taking good care of their sections of road very nicely this season.
Obviously, this topic needs to be reported on frequently to stay accurate.

Dump road in Warren was closed today. It is a morass! Whether or not the road is passable at a certain time is dependent upon the temperatures. Roxbury Gap road is passable, but if the temperatures have been above freezing for a period of time, you will wish that you didn't attempt it. It varies during the day.

Same day + 12 hrs: those heaves were twice as big, and moving downhill! Shocked

Go around today, unless your car and temperment are compatible with driving exitement and possible mishap.
It was not so much the mud as it was the giganto heaves with their matching muddy holes before and after.
