Just got a message from Borofsky ... snow line is beginning to descend Murphy's. Top of Bravo in full snow. It's pouring in Moretown, got to be a heavy dumping. Probably no biking tomorrow, but MRG dawn patrol? It's a great feeling to know it's snowing!

AAAHHHHHHHHH! I scheduled my weekend classes to end in Mid-November. Turns out it was not early enough. Get a good turn or two for me. Looking forward to some stoke!

John, You beat me to the blog. Let the fun begin! Snow up top and water in the river - a perfect combination!. Only 36 days until we plan to spin the lifts. Get those abs and quads in shape.

I've given myself visual confirmation, at an elev. of just above the base area, maybe by 50-100', now that enough clouds/fog have lifted:

Murphy's, right is covered. Snow line extends at least halfway down Murphy's and Birdland. Trees prohibit my view to the right of there from my place. My view out the window that overlooks Castlerock is obscurred in the clouds and fog but I can see white trees up there. And everything to the left of Murphy's remains brown.

Also as a side note, my outside walkway to the parking lot had a combo rain/snow mixture 'bout an hour ago, presumably from overnight/earlier this morning. Outside thermometer reads 36 degrees.

With a forecast for temps in the 40s for the upcoming week, it's looking good for retaining what is there, though not looking too good for golf, or for high elevation hiking (which I have decided to end my season - 119 miles total). We do know what can happen in November, and I'm hoping for the complete opposite of what happened last year.

I vote that you delay the end of your hiking season for at least one more day. Oh and uh, . . . BRING YOUR CAMERA WITH YOU!

Respectfully,

Mountain Activities (Chairlift rides/mtn biking/disc golf) are weekends-only until Sunday October 17, weather permitting.

However with snow up at the top of Bravo and at the start of hiking and biking trails as well as Frisbee golf, it may not due to the fact that damage could occur to the trails, with them being so wet and white. So it just may be one of those conditions where the weather will not permit the operation... that and the wind that is forecasted to be strong for the next 24 hours or so.

And if it is running, I wouldn't show up at the base of Bravo with all your gear ready to go just yet. There's still over a month to go before the season kicks off.

Not sure if new snow is one of the weather permitting conditions - my guess is that it will be.... that, and the wind!

Ved-ddy intad-esting..... could it be? could it happen?

I just talked to 3 disc golfers who advised that alittle above Allyns Lodge the snow was over their kneecaps, the guy was about 6'.

At this moment everything is running except no mountain biking, Sunday 10-4 then we are done.

The FB page is reporting 4-6" at top of Bravo and 12" up top.

The view out my window shows a little dusting on the Mall & Stein's, and more than a dusting down Murphy's/Birdland down to around Carpy's Corner. The sun is trying to break out, too.

You never know who you'll meet skiing in the rain in October ... maybe local world-class ripper Dylan Crossman?

We skied almost all the way down to the bottom, only about 100 yards to walk. The snow was thick and pretty slippery with moisture.

That's how it starts.
