It was a dreary day today, had to go up to LP for a minute so I thought I would take a few pics. I got 2 shots off and the batteries died. There is some really nice color especially above the gatehouse area but a few small patches are past peak while there still is a bunch that will peak in a few days maybe even be around by Community Day.

I haven't checked lately but you can click the little camera icon on the Bush's home page and there might some good shots taken recently.

The mountain is shedding it's fall color coat, a couple of colds night pushed it but and that's a big but...there is plenty of great color around the valley and I think lots of it will be around this weekend. I noticed that Sugarloaf Mtn from Rt 100, West Hill Rd and Warren Village is looking great, lots of color left in the valley, Bragg Hill and the east bench. You might even see a patch past peak and just up the road a patch in peak. Maybe that's the new normal...I don't know. The weather for this weekend looks chilly but mostly sunny.

Thanks for the pics. I look forward to seeing any remaining foliage and some time in the valley this weekend.

The way I see it, the earlier the foliage leaves, the sooner the snow flies and the skies slide.

I am suspecting we will have a second foliage show. The storm ripped leaves that had changed, but we have lots of green just now turning. So while the reds are shot, the orange and yellow is now coming in.... this weekend should be A-OK. :-)

Two shows for the price of one....how can you beat that!

i really hope you are right! It makes sense to me though... There was alot of green left before these storms, and I think there is a second shot of different species of trees ready to roll.

colors in Lamoille Valley were almost all red last week...

I have a bunch of friends visiting this weekend, and i'm hoping we get yellow/orange

my only concern is that i feel like at higher elevations the yellows came VERY early this year... this was taken over 2 weeks ago in smuggler's notch:

maybe they're already burned out? I'm not an expert on forest science, but i'm an optimist! hopefully it flares sumore!

I gotta say Noski's second show is really looking good around the valley. I was running errands today and the sun finally came out so I decided to check out a couple of my fav places around the valley. I only had my cheap little point and shoot and it doesn't like contrasty shots so I forced it to overexpose the incredible clouds  so the foliage would be properly exposed. I got a couple of decent shots which clearly show that this weekend will have some outstanding color. These are from Pedro Rd and Fuller Hill Rd on the east bench in Warren.

Hope to see some of you guys this weekend, you know were I'll be. :D

I guess this would be called A Political Landscape :o They are an eysore, it's just an overgrown cleared lot and ya know they won't come back and remove them...no worries...they are nothing a couple of feet of the white gold won't take care of.
