We've seen some good info on the lodge projects, but both North and South snowmaking systems have seen some work this season. Any updates? Any photos? Any other mountain op related improvements?

I know there has been lots of work on the access road. Also a couple (control?) buildings, here and there. The former warming hut by Heaven's Gate is one, and another is at the bottom of First Time.

We are replacing a significant amount of the main snowmaking pipe that brings water from the Mad River Reservoir up to Lincoln Peak. The pipe that Les Otten put in over fifteen years ago was used thin walled gas pipe bought from Mexico. Over the years it has had some leaks and we became increasingly concerned about its durability, so we are replacing the pipe where the pressure is greatest and most vulnerable - from the area just below Terra Rossa on the Access Road to near Alpine Options. Think of this as open heart surgery as we replace a corroded pipe with one that will last decades and ensure the flow of water that is needed to make snow. In concert with our project the town of Warren also replaced many old culverts under the road, and I hope they will pave the entire road next summer now that these projects have been completed.

Likewise at Mount Ellen we had a failed pipe from our second source of water across from the Fayston school. We will be putting in a new pipe from the stream there to our compressor building at Mount Ellen and this will double the water from what we had last year. This too should last decades.

While these combined $1.5 million projects are not nearly as visible as many other projects might be, it is probably the most important thing we could do to ensure the soundness of our snowmaking system for years to come. If all of you continue to support us the way you have and refer a few more friends, we will be able to continue to making important improvements each year.

I think the guy who built my house used the same pipe supplier from Mexico to run the water line from the street. Replaced that garbage a few years ago. Nothing like spending significant money of invisible improvements.
In all seriousness though, big kudos to SV for investing in the long term health of sb instead of milking the cash cow and/or making only cosmetic improvements. That kind of attitude is sorely missing from many of our institutions solely focused on short term results. While the masses may not appreciate these kind of investments, those of us planning on making long term commitments to the mrv, do. Thanks, win.
