How are we looking for the weekend? What will be left and what are the prospects for 4/17-4/18?

5 trails for friday according to ski report.
Quote:
Friday's plan calls for 5 open trails, and all but Stein's will be groomed tonight.

Damn I sure am glad I made it last Friday!

We will be on the five this weekend and will have to see what happens the next couple of days. A few other resorts are dropping. Okemo's last day is tomorrw and Sunapee's was today.

At 16:05 today, I shut down Heaven's Gate for the season. It was sad to see it go, especially this early, but the run down Downspout is getting very thin and very narrow.

As this was my last day of lift ops for the season, thanks to everyone for being [BETTER!] here this season... I am already predicting a record snow year in 2010/2011!

Last Friday... 54 trails.
Tomorrow... 5??

It is amazing how fast it is going.

Last Friday's report... "Snow Report for 4/2/10 - Tropical Bluebird Day!!"

We have to pay for that. And a lot of other days like that. (Oh yeah, Mark... That's another reason that Powder is better! )

Going down Downspout, yesterday, I could feel the water flowing beneath the snow, on the right. The left was mostly dirt. Ripcord was picky and the bottom was closed, leading you onto Downspout.

Still, there is lots of snow on Stein's and Spring Fling. Skiing will be even more limited in a few weeks.

Oh so recently ... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0fqz1laNqw)

But it definitely is not over yet, not by a long shot!

ShadyJay................thanks for holding the chair for me so many times. Hope you like the shirt, it doesn't look like much but it's an official car maint. blue. You could walk right past the gate with it on.

Nice seeing you Shady. Glad you got a hat on that head last Saturday as you were getting fried in the sun.

any sense (knowing it could change next week) as to what the chance might be for skiing 17/18? have a work commitment this weekend that I am really trying to ditch - and if the 11th looks <ack> like the end, then work will have to lose out!

I would say it is 50/50 for next weekend. Still quite a bit of snow on Upper Snowball and Spring Fling which can be moved around - especially tonight with colder temperatures, and Stein's still has good depth.
