no Slidebrook ski tours last weekend

The mountain wasn't offering the usual "Outback Ski Tour" in Slidebrook this past weekend. The snow report on Saturday said, "The 'Slide Brook Basin Wildlife area' is open for snowshoe tours, only, this weekend." Anyone know why? I heard rumors that it had to do with limitations with the forest service permit. Despite the fact that rumors are almost always true, especially when posted on the internets, just curious if anyone has any detail on what was up with that.

I don't know why it was closed to ski/ride tours, but we have never even come close to exceeding the permit numbers.

It was because of the conditions on the lower third. Thin snow with open water, stumps and rocks. I've seen it worse but they want to have a good experience for paying guests.
