This last storm really painted a clean picture of the effects of elevation and mountain ridges.

Nothing below 1300', pretty well coated above 2000'. This is the thick layer that everybody dreams about for a base. Check the wind throwing snow over the ridge. It was howling.

Our tour was fun on Saturday. More on that later.

Unfortunately, I haven't been to the top yet or to visit our sister slopes to the north, as we had some out-of town plans on Saturday evening.

Boom! Pow! Sorry for the quality, it's just a phone cam. Not bad for dark/bright indoor lighting though.

Almost an hour long jam started the 2nd set, Seven Below into Ghost, with some major hints of 2001. Lots of energy throughout. Good to see them so tight and engaged.

We've got some frozen coating finally, and we caught some Phish too. Good weekend, but next weekend should be even better!

Given the lack of snow, my wife and son also took in some music this past weekend, rather than skiing. They drove from Vermont down to Boston on Black Friday, of all days, to see Black Francis lead the Pixies through a show dedicated to Doolittle.

Hopefully, the entire family will be on snow next weekend rather than looking for alternative activities.

Friends of mine hiked up Stowe and skiied down. They said the top had about 16" with the base area around 6". Jay reported 18"-20" at the top. I'm ready, but family plans for the next two weekends have me tied down. Plan to ski from Dec. 24-Jan. 3rd at the Bush.
