As I said in the other thread, I took 2 of my cameras to the mountain, yesterday. I took almost 200 pix.

The good news is I'm not going to post them all here.

But I will post a few, and as I have other things that must be done, I'll post a few at a time, and come back for more.

There was a big crowd out to see and do the event:

There were celebrities:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee203/Pix_from_Jim/2009%20%20Pond%20Skimming/_tPICT0182.jpg

Some tried to make it:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee203/Pix_from_Jim/2009%20%20Pond%20Skimming/_tPICT0190c.jpg

Some sorta tried:
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee203/Pix_from_Jim/2009%20%20Pond%20Skimming/_tPICT0192c.jpg

But some were just there to please the crowd!
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee203/Pix_from_Jim/2009%20%20Pond%20Skimming/_tPICT0198c.jpg

And we liked it! :D

More later...

very Nice!

I could not get the boat to paddle though! Skis were to much drag. Yup me in the boat! Nice overall shots.

What a day, the water was not even cold.

A few more...

Going for the jump was much better for the crowd!

Stay outside the ropes!
http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee203/Pix_from_Jim/2009%20%20Pond%20Skimming/_tPICT0234.jpg
What happens is people get there and get a good place. Then young kids come in and squeeze in by their feet. No real problem except that they then move in front of the ropes that are marking off the course.

In this pic, people are attending to a young girl who did so, and was hit by a contestant who wiped out on the way toward the pond.

Stay outside the ropes!

A two-fer!

I love the look of skiing a trail with the sun behind you. Your shadow is in front of you and you can either be considered dancing with your shadow, or chasing it. 8)

Very important not to catch your shadow, tho.

Same might be true of this guy's reflection: :?

Only one more set to go... after this. . .

The other boat

There were rumors that this guy was trying to get the judges.

I sure am glad I do this at Sugarbush. I was checking out the Mount Snow site and the video of their event. The water was as dirty as Pond water from what I could see. All brown and nasty. I like our clear pristine water in our pond.

And at long last, the final posted pix of this event, for this year:

And I think it was this one who went over the fence, after soaking the patrollers at the end.

And the sequence of these shots is correct.
