I am really glad Sugarbush opened and has left open Paradise. Even with it's all but un-skiable few turns.

But then there was great snow

For the next 2-300 turns :)

Which brings me to putting back what was there. As some of you know there use to be trees in Paradise Ball field years ago but they have slowly died over time and the last of them where killed in the Ice Storm of the Century. With such a big wind effected space/surface snow has a hard time staying put. I would like to suggest booing off 4-6 diamond regeneration zones dispersed over the ball field. Like Mad River Glen has done on their Lower Glades Trail.

How does a regeneration zone work? Using the bamboo poles and yellow rope that ski patrol uses you corridor off ~ a 30-40' x 20-30' diamond area of no skiing. As snow depths increase. Ski patrol adjust the poles and ropes higher to keep skiers off that area. In the summer you do not mow that diamond. Over time nature takes over and trees start to grow. At Mad River after only few years they have some pretty big trees starting and a thick undergrowth around them to protect them.

To help the cause and speed up the process. I would be willing to personally transplant a few trees into the regeneration zones next summer. So with Sugarbush turning 50 maybe while growing forward we should be stewards and go back into our past and add trees back to the Paradise Ball Field. If we do something like this. Snow will collect easily and our beloved Paradise could be open even more often and longer. With deep snow.

Thanks for keeping it open.....doing my snow dance.
