Children of Winter,

Now that Sugarbush is Ranked No 3 in the East (and No. 1 by us), will it show up on the Warren Miller Radar, and would they consider including a Sugarbush Tree Skiing segment in next year's Pre-Season Flick??? Now THAT might just trump the Good Morning America segment for coverage and exposure!

Wonder who the STAR of the segment would be? Maybe a half season contest/competition to star in the segment? That would cause quite a buzz!

If the mountain only had some direct connection to WM........ Hmmmmmmmm.......

Selfishly no tree skiing WM segments - I have seen more accomplished tree-skiers here than most anywhere- especially out West - but there is a reason - tghter trees and they simply don't move when engaged.

Do all you want with the resort - but trees - other than say Eden or Sleeper Woods or Inverness - and we'll have lost our treasure to the masses.

How many of you are willing to share on a national level?

WHAT????

When did this start? :?

I seem to be having the same problem when playing disc golf. :(

Doesn't hurt as much, tho.

Well... doesn't hurt me, but I haven't asked my discs.

INVERNESS!!!!!! Jeez jwt, what next, "Tumbler Woods"! LOL

I am right there with you, and share your concern. As a fellow member of the “Furtive Society for No Names or Maps of Sacred Places", maybe a classic Sugarbush Outback Guide Tour - "woods run" would be safe ground for a WM segment? Or how about somewhere near here:

Amen 007, Amen - what was I thinking - Semi-Tough Woods - yeah, that's what I meant - there is no such thing as Inverness Woods anywhere West of Europe, anywhere.

Warren Miller gave up on the east coast about five years ago. When Warner Brothers or whoever took it over, the focus went from skiing to product placement and ridiculous site fees...it costs something crazy like $100k just for them TO SHOW UP and film at a resort. So I doubt that they are going to come to SB and make anymore movies anytime soon....Black Diamond Rush was really cool...

I have not been to a WM film in three years or more...just not worth it...Meatheads is where it is at...just wish that their Burlington show was NOT this weekend but was another one.

OMG they flimed in the backcountry of Okemo??? Hope they brought at least one chopper and plenty of oxygen! That terrain is so intense!  What have they come to? SB's woods and glades for Okemo??? Lame, just lame.

When I think of tough terrain... Okemo is the first place that comes to mind.

When I think of Okemo, my stomach turns upside down thinking of the intense terrain, steep fall lines, cliff shots, and downright nasty conditions that exist. I mean come on, doesn't this look like a place that only Warren Miller Skiers and Riders should dare to challenge????

After reviewing the maps produced with alien technology, there is little doubt why Miller picked oKeMo.........although they DID film in the east for this year's film!
Maybe you should forward these topos to his location manager...

Candidly, The Valley might benefit [IMO] from a segment filmed at Sugarbush, and since they [WM] haven't filmed here in 8-10 years?, maybe it is time to make an effort to say put us on the film company's short term radar. Unless of course the resort might have to pay 100K for the ad, as someone else pointed out, in which case the $ could be better spent on other marketing ideas.

I think the last SB segment in a WM film was Black Diamond Rush, and that was like 1993 or 1994. The big news was the debut of the ORIGINAL Green Mountain Express. The Egan Brothers were filmed talking to WM on a cell phone the size of a cinder block (no joke). They were also hitting the trees in style...with extra long Rossi straight cut skis. So yes, it has been too long...lord knows the cell phone service was not improved but the skis have!

Rob and Eric D., and Doug and Kelly L. were all in that one as well!

It's time for a reprise for the vets, and a showcase of additional new talent on fat skis with skinny cell phones!

The cell service is MUCH better. Use GSM and you'll see. Stop supporting Qualcomm and their lobbyists, who forced a poor country like Korea to be on a cellular island. Beware the Military industrial complex! (from the last good republican)
