And pretty darn good turns. Easily edged styro-snow, perfect base for the dump that is currently coming down.

What a great week already!

Amazing shots John. That Scrag view is incredible - I have to get up there this summer (or maybe sooner). What's the best way to access it? I know there used to be an advertised trail up there but it's been a while since then, right?

Just got back from three runs to close out the day. 3-6" of powder on styro. Untracked on the trails at 4pm. Finshed with Lower Birdland, high right side. I almost never ski this line. Love the XXL's. So stable in so many conditions.

Get out tomorrow!

p.s. I don't know the best way. We followed low elevation logging roads and then bushwhacked through some pretty tight stuff to get to the summit. I'll do some research with the Town of Waitsfield to see what the official access is. There was a clear trail from the Northfield side.

....and though I didn't bump into you last weekend, JA, I was skiing on my brand new pair of '08/'09 187 XXL Crows....set up nicely by the crew at VT North.

Love, love, love how them boards ski. Or at least so far SOOOOO good....

I rode to the top of Organgrinder in a groomer around 5pm tonight, and it was snowing up there and I would guess we had a good 4-5" of new light snow. By the time I got to the base area, it was snowing really hard down there and accumulating. I would bet on a nice day on the slopes tomorrow.

Today I skied Twist and Domino to see if they should be groomed and voted "no". The Moguls are a bit hard, but the troughs are filling in and as we get some sun and warmer temperatures as expected, they are going to set up nicely and not grooming them will keep them in better shape for the remaining weeks. We have plenty of groomed trails and leaving a number of the right trails ungroomed is going to give a lot of people a lot of fun in the weeks ahead.

I was pleasantly surprised by the total cover on Lower Birdland and Sunrise. When these trails are well covered, you know there is great skiing on and off-piste.

This weekend should be a good one to be on the slopes and in the trees!

I'll be there - lookin' at Sat at Lincoln Peak and Fri & Sun at MEllen, though may swap the two on Sunday. Thinkin' of hitting Castlerock up again (Castlerock Run this time) - any recommendations? How is it? Was it groomed? I read it was, but couldn't find it on the trail report. Want to get up there again one more time before its all gone and then I'll be kickin' myself till next season.

BTW Win, I have a copy of the Today Show DVD I'd be more than happy to give ya if interested ..... :)

Excellent job so far... let's keep it going for another month and 3 weeks
