Right down to the bottom of the mountain and below. That's right, it changed over much quicker than they were predicting. Should be good soon!

While Norm's cam is a real treat, would have loved to see a web cam installed on the mountain(s) for this season.

Really gets us low-landers even more psyched to make the trip North.

I agree. 8)

I'd love to see one in the plaza.

Not so big for me, now. I can just walk over there, but when I lived in Mass, I was always checking in a whimpering, while at work.

Do you think there will be enough snow to ski on anything that doesn't have a base? Might we be boot-packing Spills? or am I dreaming?

Definitely need a web cam on the mountain.

Definitely need a web cam on the mountain.

All we need is someone to duplicate Norm's efforts a little closer to the mtn. What we need is a webcam hero.

Unless of course Win reverses his position on webcams.

At 2pm, the snow was falling and coating the ground on 89 between Brookfield and South Barre. There was even a little on the pavement.

According to TWC, the [Winooski River] Valley in Montpelier area is forecasted for 2 inches of wet snow tonight, and 2-4" more tomorrow. Out my window now, rain and 37 deg.

As long as its snowing on the mountain though, its all good~

I got nuttin' :(

I'm in Sugarbush Village, and there is no snow on the cars or grass. On the mountain... it is night.

I still have hope, as the real stuff is suppose to be happening tonight, into tomorrow. Eye on The Sky is saying 3-6" in the northern and central Greens. NOAA is saying 4-8" for 2900', by tomorrow night.

But as of now... I got nuttin' :(

I'm better at taking pix than posting them, however, I will make an effort to get some shots up there, as I have in the past. (http://forums.skimrv.com/viewtopic.php?t=1080)

After raining all day at the LP base I noticed when I left this afternoon that the clouds lifted slightly and it was white down to 2000ft. It's just snow, happens every year.

Hammond went up personally and there was 6" at the bottom of Heaven's gate lift and 8" at the Summit. It is a wet but consistent snow and he said Organgrinder skied well. It is blowing very hard but should moderate by tomorrow morning.

That sounds quite good, to me.

A heavy, wet snow building a base on Ripcord, Paradise and Spillsville? Add to that a good mix with the manufactured snow, and it sounds like just what the doctor ordered. (Although there were a few at the hospital who ordered a little more. )

Now, if the wraparound can just give us a little more... (Yeah... I may have been one of those at the hospital.  )

Please tell me that wind is not going to be a problem tomorrow....

Seeing the forecast, that was/is my biggest concern. While I ain't no expert on which way the wind blows to require a wind hold, I do know that on V-Day the wind was gusting with some force and the HG was spinning. I got to the top and nearly got blown off the back side. I know wind at North = bad.

As promised, but not all that photogenic. :(

For the record, there is a lot more snow on the rail of my deck (≈30' higher, but different wind direction) than there is on the rail of the Sugarbush Village bridge.

I have a good feeling about tomorrow. 8)

There is a lot of snow up there! Not sure we will get top to bottom tomorrow, but the top is looking good! We all set to spin the lifts! See you in the AM!

Good to hear that the lifts are cleared to run....I heard earlier that the lifts needed be approved by the state.
