I got a few brief glimpses between the clouds from home and the trails at Mount Ellen were covered with natural SNOW all the way down to at least the bottom of Cliffs. I'll work on some pics for later.

Get psyched!

How much snow dropped? I couldn't believe it when I drove into town, it rained all night in the valley.

This was a very pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting this until later this week. We are looking at really good snow making temperatures for several days.

wow! No ski area (at least not Sugarbush, MRG, Jay, Stowe) is mentioning anything about accumulation on their websites. Only MRG even mentions snow in the first place.

At LP where I was I estimate it snowed at the 2500ft level and above. It was a pleasant surprise for everyone. To think I was worried that all the rain we got in the valley would diseffect the manmade snow on Jester. :D I assume other resorts especially Stowe got in on the new snow as well.

View from Moretown Common is splendid... white on the ski hills, the Hump, Mansfield...

Of course, when I showed the pics to the folks in my office, noone believed them. I was a little skeptical myself espec when the weather report on sugarbush.com said 39 at the base and 44 up top, and it was raining at the office in the Champlain Valley. But by the afternoon, getting on the interstate, Bolton and the back side of Mansfield were white. And when I went to drop off my crew-mate in Moretown, the views from Moretown Common Rd made me smile. As long as the temps stay like this, or in the 40s at least, for the next couple of weeks, and continue to drop from there, we'll be good, and it does give me the thought that there may be more than one route from the summit to the mid station come opening day. I may just have to strap on the gear and hang around my apt this evening - it'll take my mind off how much $$$ I just spent to fill my oil tank. Good thing I've only got 10 miles or so out my door to the mtn, and may just have to ride the 'Bush every day I have available. Bring it on!!!!!

Sorry Treeskier. Not 10" but a couple when we did not expect it. Probably some more the next couple of days and some really good forecasted snow making temperatures.

Only 16 days hopefully, so be nice to Mother Nature!

Any news on the snowmaking thus far? Any measurable snow overnight up top? -mr impatient

Snowmaking is working its way down Jester. :)

Having snow beneath it just has to help. And they've been making snow during the day, all day, today. 8)

Just Upper Jester, at the moment. Temps and flurries are very helpful. It is looking good. (Not that I'm ready, or anything. )

Looking good is an understatement. I just looked at the NWS forecast and it is likely they will have snowmaking temps every night for the next week. May have to bring my hiking boots and skis when I come up next friday.

Sweet pics John! That jersey staring at you is probably enjoying the beautiful day as well.

While the mtn is looking great, down here in the valley it's still green. Yup, beautiful day in the valley, almost too beautiful. However for those traveling for around T day, it's the perfect scenerio. Great skiing and dry roads. :D

I like the first one on the Bush website, with the horses. You're right. A classic Vermont scene! 8)
