We've been out working hard to get the system in shape and today we got one of the old XC routes opened up. Please go ride it, if you are in the area. It really needs traffic now.

The trailhead is on Castlerock Connection above the bridge on the low side of the trail and it's marked with orange tape for the length of it. The route is classic MRV singletrack, tight, twisty and challenging.

It was done enough to ride, so we did ...

We will need to rock in a few sections and bench a spot or two, but it's there and ready for wheels. Careful on Sleeper Road, the waterbars will eat you up if you're going too fast.

More to come!

Sweet! What's the general path of the trail? Through the woods above the gully there all the way down to Sleeper Road by the snowshoe trail? Not a very well-traveled area I'd assume...

When might we see the trail map? Still a ways off?

The trail currently goes from CR Connect to Sleeper Road where there's that nice kicker in the winter. It winds around and down through the area, but doesn't nearly cover all of it.

The map is still a few weeks off, but I may be able to post one of the off-mountain maps soon. Stay tuned.

Nice, thanks for the updates.

Is it treasonous to potentially hike through/around that trail as long as one is cautious and always yields to bikers? Always fun to see one of the more secluded parts of the mountain...

No worries on that side of the mountain, hike where you want. The person downhill always has the right of way, just like skiing. Wave and say hi. Have fun!

Thanks. Will try to convince the wife to have breakfast and take the lift up while I take it like a man. Either way I'm there. Fire up the grill and ice the LTs

The lift won't take you all the way up to this trail and Bravo opens June 30th. Better both walk up. It's really pretty easy for hiking, certainly gentler than doing Mount Abe.

My wife walk up? That's a joke I haven't heard before

Can't wait to check out your handy work. Thanks again.

Today at Sugarbush (http://www.sugarbush.com).

We've been working on the lower trails, but the mini-excavator comes on Monday and we will be putting in the upper trails then. Berms, jumps and features, too.

Love to lay it over.

It's a little slick today, but big tires sure seem to negate the greasy roots pretty well.

More to come!

p.s. New rumor ... did you hear that Win bought Stowe? It's true. He's going to close it down and start a private hunting club featuring Bicknell's thrush and black bear as the primary targets. Also, Waitsfield just approved a 100 house luxury subdivision on top of the Northfield Ridge! Intrawest is the principal developer and plans are available on-line. Google "gullible" for more info.

Looking very LUSH! Was up Memorial weekend. Have to be there in late May or early June to catch the Trillium and Jack-in-the-pulpit. Althea was with us for the first time since the surgery
and she loved it!! I think she truly missed Vermont. She actually sees more people and activities there than at home as we live far in the woods with no close neighbors. She is a social butterfly. Talked with a nice young family that was considering property in the valley. I think we did a good sell. ; }
Is that your own Ironhorse or will the rentals be that nice?!

So I googled "gullible", and I didn't find anything about Intrawest or Sugarbush.

Gullible
Results 1 - 10 of about 3,050,000

I didn't go thru all the results.

Best thing I found on the first page, (I only looked at the first page.) was this:

Gullible.info
gullible dot info - everything on the internet is true ... Join the Gullible.info daily mailing list for your morning dose of sass, pap & trivia. ...

So then I tried:

Results 1 - 10 of about 72 for +gullible +sugarbush

I mostly found links to forums. In most of them, the words simply appeared on the same page, tho seldom in the same post, or by the same person. Most interesting was:

Trackpads Community
TBLady
04-26-2004

It linked to gullible, in one of the posts and her sig, which includes,
"Sugarbush - Pure Vermont...It's sweeter up there!!"

But I'm not sure she was really talking about skiing. :P

I also found a couple posts from myself, as I use Sugarbush as my location. So there I was, googling myself in the middle of the day...

So... My point is that I wasn't able to find anything on the new expansion plans by googling gullible. Were there additional search terms I needed to enter?

And please don't ask me to google sarcasm, because there are
about 8,890,000 hits for that, and I've been googling too much, today. (My mom is saying that I'll go blind!)

The Iron Horses that Chad and Dave are riding will be the rentals. Commander Hammond has been letting me borrow his ride for the photo shoots. My bike is being built at Stark Mountain now! A Stinky, a Stinky, such a wonderful toy.
