to come ski or ride. We only got 7" and it's all wet and sticky. There's nobody here and the groomers haven't been out to make everything nice. Better stay home and think about golf.

In case it isn't obvious, these are from Castlerock this morning.

Only one reply and ~250 views? Y'all must be packing the cars and getting on the road.

Just in case you're on the fence ...

The snow has dried out up top and it's still dumping! But all I can think about is golf. Really.

That's so awesome. I'll be rolling in a few minutes. Gonna hit MRG tomorrow though.

Yeah, it's on.

Hard to believe they've received only another 2" since sunrise given the radar returns I'm seeing on the NWS website.

Any real-time, real-world estiamtes of total snowfall thus far?

I really haven't a clue how much we got. I will say... :D :D :D

I had the unfortunate luck of being on North Lynx today and realizing that Gatehouse was stopped. There were probably 8 or nine of us, just bearing it. It was so sad.

It has been snowing all day, and is dumping right now. The bottom is really sticky, but the upper lifts... John was right. Probably a good time to get the clubs out, and get ready to mow the lawn.

There's been at least another 6-10" and it's dumping harder now than it has all day.

Where's my nine iron?

Sorry, one more quick observation. I just looked out the window from Valley House and Gate House has almost disappeared in the snowfall. Unbelieveable.

That observation is confirmed by taking a quick look at the MRG webcam right now. Heaviest it's been all day. You can barely see past the first few poles on the Single.

Is that 6-10" on top of the 5-7" they were reporting from last night?

If so, GREAT SUCCESS!!! Hi fiiiive!

JA thx for the pics. You are a 1-man marketing team!

Selling my soul as I type to get up there w/in the next 48. Upper elevation f/c has 30-40 winds for Fri so lift hold a concern. Still gotta earn those turns with some hiking anyway.

Those are really beautiful shots...or did I say that already?!?!

There's already about 14"+ at the base of Mt. Ellen, so we're looking at another big-time pow day tomorrow! :D

How is the snow at the base of Mt Ellen? I am doing the triathlon tomorrow and trying to figure out which skis to bring. If it is sticky stuff I am going classic; if it is hard, I was thinking of going skate. Any feedback would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks!

The race starts at 11 and since the x/c is the last leg and you will be skiing on a x/c trail made just for the race I would think classic but I would bring your skate skis just in case, not sure if they will be grooming a skating lane or not. You should have plenty of time to check out the situation before the race starts. Hope this helps.

I had another obligation at South... I didn't have a choice!

I plan on spending all day Saturday at ME hiking. Should be TONS of untracked powder up there!

SRO - I'm not sure if you're joking or not. Last pic has to be Middle Earth and second to last looks like Paradise, but I'd believe it if someone told me Castlerock Run.

Sure, whatever. We know you realize that South is better (not for late spring skiing, but THIS IS WINTER :-) ).

Um, no. I'd take ME over South any day in any conditions. I have the opportunity all season long to ski either mountain EVERY DAY. This season, I have about 90 days under my belt. About 82 of them were at ME, 5 at LP, 2 at MRG, 1 at K-Mart, and 1 at Burke. ME is my mountain no matter what. :)

No... Paradise, Middle Earth (as some have alluded to).
