There is a winter storm watch going into effect at 4:00 p.m. today. According to the radio this morning, the valleys should see 3"-6", with up to 12" in the mountains. The watch may become a warning as the storm gets closer.

I've listened and read several reports including NOAA on the website and the "actual" storm should be over by Thursday a.m. however snow showers are predicted for several days. I just want to be able to drive there. Hoping early tomorrow will be okay. The TV reports are talking winds but the web reports seem to have the wind dying tomorrow. I can only hope.

Driving should be fine. I don't think the snow will stick to the roads as it has been fairly warm and the ground is thawing. Definately be careful, but I wouldnt worry too much about it.

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
6 am EDT Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a Winter
Storm Warning... which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 6 am
EDT Thursday for Washington County... where 4 to 8 inches of wet
snow is expected.

Rain... sleet and snow will change to a wet snow this afternoon in
the higher elevations and working its way into the valleys by
evening. Wet snow may be heavy at times tonight before gradually
tapering to snow showers Thursday morning. Total snowfall
accumulations will range from 4 inches to 8 inches with locally
higher amounts possible.

This heavy wet snow will likely cause slick... treacherous Road
conditions and the weight of the snow may cause some scattered
power outages late tonight and early Thursday. Travel conditions
will be adversely affected by reduced visibility in snow. Please
plan accordingly.

Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio... your local media... or
go to www.Weather.Gov/Burlington for further updates on this
weather situation.

I've got 7-8" at the base of ME. The website is only reporting 7", but I have the feeling it's more in the 10-12" range. I'll measure it when I get up there!

Yes.

The bottom has to be wet, but the stuff coming down now? Looks nice. I'll go out to check.

Might be a little late getting back to you on it, tho.
