I usually try to live in the moment, but given that I will most likely not be able to access Castlerock or Heaven's Gate tomorrow morning, my thoughts turn towards you salivating masses of powder hungry skiers and riders.

In the spirit of sharing, here is a friendly word of advice ... Get to the upper mountain areas as soon as possible. The Rock opened briefly today and was only lightly chewed, while HG was hike-access. Similar story at Mount Ellen. The extra accumulation and wind-loading that we've continued to get have worked their magic. All is ready and getting better.

No major wind to speak of tomorrow either.

Get on it!

John

p.s. This thread is stoke-only. Thanks!

The only shot I took today. The ice in my beard and the smile says it all.

That's awesome!

BTW-just so you know how lucky you are. While you were skiing I was sitting in my car for over 3 hours commuting (normally 30-40 minutes) because of all the flooding north of NYC.

I was right there with you. My hour commute to Stamford took 3. Not good times. Bad times.

On the good side, the ride home only took 1:45. I wish I was looking at some POW for tomorrow. Oh well. HAVE FUN.

BTW- what are the final numbers on the snow?

How do you like thelooks you get when you walk into the lodge?

I walk in and look around. People look up, then back down. They cover their mouth and say something to the people with them, who turn around to look at me. I smile and wave.
