Seems like they have a photo of Church right there for everyone to see. At least that's what I think it is; it's tough to tell from the view, as I can't see my cheater's way down in that picture :-)

Description there says between the mountains... potentially one of those rock faces on the side of Mt. Ellen? But then how would they get the shot? It would need a helicopter... definitely looks like the Church, though I dunno why they'd lie about it in the description... hmm...

And, technically, the Chruch is between Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen. It's off of Nancy Hanks Peak.

No helicopter needed, just a telephoto lens

Thats not the first time The Church has made it onto the home page. How many people remember the picture of John Egan heading right down the face of it? I think that picture was taken from our last big dump in 2001.

That pic from Strat is fantastic.. I really like it. It's also deceiving, though, at least to me. It makes it seem like one can actually ski down the Church as opposed to having to jump off it. Every other picture I see makes it clear it's a huge rock face because you see the rock. Though maybe one could tell from the picture that it would be too steep to hold snow? I'm not sure.

I'm not sure where I got it from, I was googling Sugarbush while building my site a few years ago and it just came up. I think it might've been from some online newspaper from Delaware or something... I think it was actually labled Sugarloaf, but it's clear that that's the Bush... but yeah, I've never been sure what part of the rock that's actually on...

Yeah, I've seen it on your (old?) site before with the description that you got it from some place that said it was from Sugarloaf. My guess is it is just the main rock face, and it happened to snow recently with a density of snow that managed to stick. There probably wasn't much wind after the storm yet either, because I'd figure the snow would quickly blow off. That's my guess, at least.
