John..PM me if I just did a no-no, I can easily delete it. Such a great shot and the blue snow kinda bugged me so I sorta fixed it.

Looks like you lost some detail in the flying snow and other highlights.

Yea, I know but I wanted to bring out the joy on the skiers face. I could increase the contrast and darken it to get the snow detail back. I did just a quickie fix. Just wanted to get the blue out and brighten it up a bit. Could spend more time on the layer/mask thing. That's what I meant by "sorta fixed it" Good eye tho!

The blue looks great in the pic. Kind of gives a sense of how cold that day was.

Nice photo John.

The Podcast should be pretty cool when it's on the website.....

Edit away, if it makes you feel better. My photo program and monitor at work are not particularly accurate, so it is not a surprise that it shows up blue. However, it's the shadows that are blue and that is how they looked yesterday. And yes, it was cold!

p.s. As for getting a job like Rick's, all you need to do is:
1. Commit to working every Saturday and Sunday from the beginning of December to the end of March, 16 weekends in a row. (Rick and most of the other coaches in Seasonal Programs have full-time jobs during the week too, which means no or few days off for the winter.)
2. Plan to work and train a lot of unpaid hours, in addition to the above.
3. Be a great skier or rider, have deep knowledge of Sugarbush and all types of skiing and riding, including off-piste and backcountry, and be able to share this knowledge and skill with kids and their parents.
5. Be responsible for several kids at a time on a busy mountain for six hours straight, no breaks. You must also be able to out-ski these kids all day, which for Rick's group, is not an easy prospect.
6. Be responsible for inspiring a life-long love and respect for skiing and mountain cultures.
7. Be willing to work for not alot of money.
8. Be willing to ski, ride, hike and climb in every condition and relish it. Enthusiasm is not optional, no matter the temperature or precipitation.

I may have forgotten a few requirements, but this is the core. Our coaches are awesome and I try to thank them as much as possible. I even stopped and took this picture of Rick, so he could get some freshie too. Who says there are no friends on a powder day?

Here's another time that I stopped for Rick. He is also working here.

I can only wish that it was just blue shadows that bothered me. I missed the Castlerock opening by one day. How's that for a pisser? :?

Sweet weekend and the skiing is still great. I caught a few Liftline's with Egan today and we were still finding fresh lines from Saturday on the edges.
