Heh, they built about 10,000 or so instruments before going out of business in the early 90's. Most of them tend to be mediocre (many exceptions) but they are solidly built. You can pick a nice smaller one up used for a few grand these days.

I used to play a 1902 M.P. Moller tracker pipe organ (16 or so rank, I believe; 1000ish pipes) on a weekly basis. It was a gorgeous instrument. It had been overhauled by a Pennsylvania organ company (no electronics, though... strictly mech.), and it was by far the best sounding instrument I've played. And I've played my share, by the way! I played for a wedding in NYC a couple years ago on an organ 5 or 6 times the size of the Moller I played, and it didn't nearly compare.

Anyway..................

I have played 12 rank or so Moller Tracker that was pretty incredible. Shame they went out of buisness, they were actualy starting to turrn out some great instruments again. The company was basicly bought by investors and closed as a tax write-off. Their pipe shop did continue out of the same factory and is still churning out pipes though.

I am not an organist (professionally) but my dad is. I have worked doing installations/removal and servace work.
