I am sure that most have read about the latest ski lift accident at Sugarloaf. Very scary accident. I am posting a link to the Alpine Zone thread. Read the thread as there is some interesting info there. Other than the skier mental anguish, I sincerely hope that the injuries are not serious.

I used to ride the King Pine chair all of the time when I skied Sugarloaf regularly some years ago. There are some indications that this lift was scheduled for replacement with a plan to retrofit it and use it elsewhere on the mountain. I imagine the lift replacement will occur more expeditiously than ever, but doubt that the lift will be able to be used elsewhere on the mountain.

I hope that too many non skiing folks do not get confused about the two ski areas in two different states whose names both begin with "Sugar". When Sugarloaf had the Spillway chair accident a few years ago, too many people told me they were sorry to hear about the lift accident at Sugarbush..........

Sugarbush's lifts appear to be much safer than the other Sugar mountain.

One would hope that Sugarbush is seeing this and is double checking our systems to make sure we are all good.

Of course, Hawk, and we do not have that make of lift.
