A website I visit often is predicting a very snowy February. Says we are in fact at the start of a mini ice age. www.weatheraction.com.
Wax your skis and gas up the snowblower!

Even just the 6"+ we are looking at tomorrow will be very welcome. I see this page is calling for 7.7" for Warren (said 5.9 earlier today... ) http://www.erh.noaa.gov/btv/html/StormTotalSnow/StormTotalSnow.shtml

Ok, what's the call for Castle Rock to open Thursday? Would 8-10" tomorrow be enough for CR lift to spin? Or is more needed? What about Paradise? Could it reopen?

In years past they seem to open Castlerock "officially" for only hiking for a week or so when they have enough snow to keep it from getting skied off too quickly. I know folks have already hiked it but I don't think it was "officially" open for hiking for that many days, if at all. But perhaps the lift will spin sooner since it has not been open. I think the big issue no matter what are the water bars at the bottom and whether or not they are sufficiently filled in. Before the 2" last weekend, I heard from an extremely reliable source that CR needed a foot to be in play so hopefully this storm will do that.

Based on what they have done this year, I am sure they will open some of that. There is really no base and rocks and dirt are everywhere but hell, that never stopped them before. 10" of fluff should definately cover all that up.
