I thought I'd start a thread on this general topic. The idea came from...

I went to the Sugarbush weather report url looking for mountain temperatures this morning http://www.sugarbush.com/snow-trails-conditions/live-weather-report and found several links shown that are correct but not as helpful as they could be...

On the "7 Day FORECAST" link I suggest changing from http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Warren&state=VT&site=BTV&textField1=44.12&textField2=-72.85&e=0 to http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=44.10813152532776&lon=-72.93804936110973&site=btv&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=text . The current url is the forecast for Warren and if you look below map on that page you will see the elevation is 899 ft. If you click on the second or "to" url above that one says "5 miles W Warren VT" and below the map on that page the elevation is 2762 ft. If you would rather have something in between try this one, "4 miles W Warren VT" http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=44.11059510053134&lon=-72.92775031738279and below the map on that page the elevation is 1886 ft.

On the "Higher Summits FORECAST" link I suggest changing from http://www.nws.noaa.gov/view/validProds.php?prod=REC&node=KBTV to http://www.erh.noaa.gov/btv/mountain/ . One does need to know what and where Mt Ellen is on the map in order to use successfully.

On the "Storm Total Precipitation MAP" I suggest changing from http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=CXX&product=NTP&overlay=11101111&loop=yes to http://www.erh.noaa.gov/btv/html/snow.shtml . The current link is historical and useful but I find the future forecast to be most useful.

What internet resources do you find useful?

I really like my stripped down Intellacast moving radar loop http://images.intellicast.com/WxImages/RadarLoop/bml_None_anim.gif
Loads quickly with out all the clutter.

Judah Cohen is what Harvey calls a "real expert".

+1 on the intellicast loop Tree , a personal fav as well
For a literally bigger picture i also find http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/full_loop.php useful

That said, without doubt, http://www.famousinternetskiers.com/ is my go-to ski country weather read
Lionel Hutz rules the site's Weather tab, and is freakishly accurate. Have found none better - or even close - in many years of looking. And with his track record, passion, and engaging play-by-play I've stopped looking.
Plus when Ma Nature isnt co-operating, you have reams of insanely good stokes to peruse.

In the same vein as cmoore's first post, I would like to respectfully suggest that the Bush (and MRG, too, if they wish) expand and clarify the new snow amount and base snow depth information provided.

So many times last winter, there were substantial differences in the amount of snowfall at base, mid and summit. I think a few times we had 1 inch at the base, 4 inches at mid and 8 or more at the summit. In the interests of (even more) transparency, I recommend that new snow totals be calculated at each of base, mid and summit and labelled "new natural snow". With respect to base depths, I recommend that base depth ranges also be provided at all three levels.

That would mean that somebody would actually have to pay attention, go out and measure and then update the web site when it was snowing. Instead of skiing??!@#$ All kidding aside the ski patrol does do this at the Bush and they do update it regularly and put it on the report. They do miss occasionally but that is the nature of the beast. When it is snowing people are doing other things. ;-)
