Alright last year it was DC, Philly and Jersey getting dumped on! This year in CT it is nuts! So next year one step further north and we hit the jackpot! Wishful Thinking I hope! :D

Dude, it is JANUARY!!!!! There are 2 historically really good months to go. One big storm and all will be forgotten. I hear your frustration but hang in there.

I was gonna say not that it was bad year so far! It is just simply nuts here in CT. January the snowiest month on record this year!

One big storm and all will be forgotten.

I love big dumps!

Still holding out for our 317" this year. That is about 160" more. With 12 weeks of typical winter season left, that gives us roughly 13" per week. Clearly achievable through Feb and March. Especially if we get a couple big dumps, and a few clipper systems.

Don't go and get all depressed about snow in the flatlands, at least snow is coming. More on the way. Relax, go tune your skis, and get your vacation days lined up for when the dumps come!

Bring it on Mother Nature. Barkbiter says " She ain't got the guts to hit us with a 24" storm! I dare her". True quote, he said it to me last weekend.

If you look at the Mansfield graph of this year vs. the average for the last 50 years you will see we are right on track..

I know what you mean...16" overnight here in Easton, CT, on top of 8" earlier this week which was atop 27" from last week.

As a best freind of mine who frequents this board says: "that's crazy nuts coo-coo"

If you can't get to the mountains from the flatlands, try snow tunneling

thats hysterical. my son made a snow cave here as well. dont know that weve ever had this much on the ground. i love the stuff anywhere but it needs to head north. i got off the highway last night during the storm and took some back roads through "teatown" which was settled in the 1700s to get home. pretty cool. but im sick of everyone asking how much we r getting up in nne. this storm track must shift. it aint right.
actually, whats amazing is how good the conditions are given the lack of synoptic snow. we are due.

big shout out to generalisimo Atkinson on his promotion. well, well deserved. his passion, dedication and enthusiasm are contagious. thanks john.

Ah, the list. Are you a Plaid warrior or just a lurker last tracks? I have been following Mr. Bratten's info for years. He is currently working with others right now to create a new and very accurate system of snow fall measurement at Stowe. He posted pictures of Tim Kelley of NECN recently touring th new stake site. Should be very informative.

Mad River Glen has just posted on its Facebook a new version of the red and white iconic bumper sticker: New York City, Ski it if You Can. There is an apple in place of the "o" in York... nice.

One more inch and we will have had 7 feet of snow in January which is way above the historical average for January. No really big dump but a little almost every day this month and that is on top of a lot of man made due to really good temperatures for snowmaking. In terms of gallons pumped we are far ahead of last year and close to be finished for the year unless we have a thaw. And, the quality is outstanding.

From a Business standpoint, all this snow down here probably is increasing skier visits up North!. Not up this weekend, but looking good for storm in the late week with fresh stuff all next weekend!

A snowstorm in Boston on a Wednesday is the best advertising for the north country... you are absolutely right! We can have the best conditions in the world, but if there is no snow downcountry we suffer.

Here it comes! Since I booked a ski trip out west this weekend, you can all thank me for bringing the Big Dump to the 802!

Looks like 20-25" to hit The Valley. Cold blower snow too!

Enjoy the weekend. I suggest taking wednesday off and go ski since your work is going to close anyway!!!!

Alta. And hooking up on Saturday with your neighbors with a guide in the morning. Maybe try some exploring and some steep and deeps. Looks like fresh mid week and on the weekend so the skiing should be fabulous.

I'm guessing the woods will finally get a good base. I'll appreciate you packing it down for me for my return.

Josh Fox is suggesting another dump early next week too. Nice way to start February.
