I know I'm getting ahead of myself a bit, but how more snow is needed before there is tree skiing.

Yes - getting well ahead of yourself. I ducked in at 2900' on 12/31 and there was a lot of work to do. I'm sure there were some of the cleaner spots in the upper elevations that would have been ready at the time, but not many. With the wipeout last week and only limited snow since then, I can't imagine it's even close to good, especially based on the ugly pictures I saw. You'd probably want to see at least another 12-18" fall before you consider tempting fate above 2500'.

I walked through some stuff yesterday just below the top of Bravo and it was not even close. The amount of snow isn't necessarily the key factor, it's how thick it is. We need a lot of base before anything is remotely ready.

So let's say another 2 feet (without melting) should do it. Could be half way there by tuesday.

Nope, no tree skiing here. Especially not on wed morning at Mt Ellen.

For the most part we picked our way down, but it's getting there.
