Date(s) Skied: 11/22

Conditions: Packed man-made

Trip Report:
Absolutely gorgeous day. Couldn't have asked nicer weather -- upper 30's/lower 40's, sun shining, perfect! Rim Run to Elbow to Spread Eagle to Lower Rim Run was the only way down, but it was nice. The man-made snow was very high quality. I skied from 9:30 to 12:30, and it was great the whole time. There wasn't much of a croud, but enough people to keep things moving. Lots of the management team were around making sure everything was in place and running smoothly, and were ready and willing to help out, answer questions, or just chat. The 'Bush definitely has the best management and owners in the east. All-in-all, one couldn't ask for a better opening day, given the recent weather patterns. Well done, Win, Hardy, Dan, and everyone!

By definition, given the description of the runs open, it was downloading on the GMX.

Well, I'm just in. Great day! Everyone smiling! Good snow! More later, with pix. Wink

I'm a happy camper. And isn't that what you're supposed to be able to say when the season starts? Very Happy

So I got to the mountain a little before 10:00 Got set and headed up.
Have to remind myself... Pointy side goes to the front.

Am I really going skiing? Confused

Took one pic and the batteries died, in my camera. Shocked But I was a boy scout. I had a second set. Wink
As I was finding them, I passed Hardy, downloading. (This will come as a big surprise?) He had a great big smile on his face. Smile

Off the top, turn right...
Yep! There's winter up here! Very Happy

FIS still needs a little snow. Rolling Eyes

As does Black Diamond.

Smaller kids weren't having any fun.

Nor any of the bigger kids, either.

There were a few touchy spots, but by in large, snow was great. It was a warm day. I didn't see a frown on anyone.

And on the way down...
He's probably saying "Am I really going riding? "

A few more pix in my
'06 - '07 album...

Great pics, Lostone. I completely forgot to take my camera.

There are also some good shots on sugarbush.com that Sandy Macys took. He was around taking pictures all day.

Think snow!

I thought it was pretty pushy of me to carry my camera on the first day, but the nice thing about having a camera you have no respect for is you can carry it anywhere. Wink

And I forgot to include it, but after I was done, I was standing by the Guest Services desk and this guy was talking about his day. He mentioned a forum a few times, then mentioned that he had responded to one of Win's posts from this morning.

I asked which forum, and when he said it was this one, I tied him up and beat the truth out of hi... Embarassed uh I mean I asked him who he was. Turns out it was Mike_451. Smile

Good to meet you, Mike, and your afraid-to-post friend. Laughing

Look forward to hearing your report. (hint, hint. Wink )

Heh, yeah I have to get a trip report up, the afraid to post friend is my bro, not that into the internet yet. I think I will write one for thursday..... I will probably take my camera up some day next week when the crowds thin out (hopefully not the snowpack)

Nice meeting you Lostone, and any other posters I unknowingly bumped into....
